    حَوْض \ basin: a wide bowl used for holding liquid, esp. for washing. bed: (in a garden) a piece of ground where flowers or vegetables are grown. reservoir: a place (like a lake) that is made so as to store a public water supply. tank: a large container for liquid or gas: a petrol tank; a water tank. trough: a long low container to hold the food or drink of animals. tub: a large round container, of wood or metal (for washing clothes, for growing ornamental bushes, etc.. yard: an enclosed area where work is done: a builder’s yard; a shipyard. \ See Also خزان (خَزَّان)‏ \ أَحواض خَوائِيَّة (تبخيرٍ أو تبَلْورٍ)‏ \ vacuum pans. \ حَوْض الاسْتِحْمَام \ bath, baths: a container in which one sits for the purpose of washing the whole body: Don’t forget to clean the bath after you. \ حَوْض رَسُوّ السُّفن \ dock: a part of a harbour, where ships are loaded or repaired. \ حَوْض زُهُور \ flowerbed: an area of garden soil in which flowers are grown, often for show. \ حَوْض الزّيت (في السيّارة (الكارتير))‏ \ sump: the case that holds oil at the bottom of a petrol engine. \ حَوْض الغَسْل (مَغْسَلَة)‏ \ washbasin: a large bowl, usu. fixed in a bathroom, for washing the hands and face. \ حَوْض لِحِفْظ الأَسْماك والنَّباتات المائِيّة (أكواريوم)‏ \ aquarium: a place for keeping fish and winter-plants.
